Hello! For characters who don’t have any outfits, I was wondering if it’d be okay to put in their outfits section on their character pages that no outfits were released for them? Otherwise, the section is empty and to me it makes the article look incomplete.
Also, what do you think about adding the outfit descriptions from Van Dyne’s to the outfits section on the character pages who do have outfits?
The relevant information for each outfit is already displayed on each of the character articles. If you want to help out with outfits, then the Van Dynes article could use a lot of updating, as it doesn't list all the outfits. That would be very helpful.
Also, I noticed that you started adding additional icons from character selection menu to each article. Please do not add these. The articles already have the different rank icons posted. If a rank icon is missing, then feel free to post it.
Okay, yes I noticed the Van Dyne’s article needed some work and I do plan on updating that.
As for the character selection icons, I figured I would add them since they show how the characters appeared in the character selector in AvAc 2.0 and they are different from the icons that are in the icon galleries.
How about the hero management icons? As they show additional information such as combat class, combat type, and the various rarity colours.
All the combat information is already listed both on the character articles and the Combat Attributes article. They're all based on the icons already featured in the galleries on the character articles.
Hi there! Hope you’re doing well. :) I noticed you deleted some of the pictures I uploaded, and I was just wondering why they’re ‘spammy’? I know they’re not in the same style as the others, but they still show the character’s rank outfits.
Also, there are categories for Asgardians and Inhumans, so I was wondering if it’d be okay if I created categories for other species? And what do you think about having a category for LGBT+ characters?
Yes, I removed those images because those articles already had images of the character's different rank appearances. Adding in the AVAC 2.0 versions of rank screens is one thing, but including multiple versions of the same type of image just makes the galleries bulky and cluttered.
No, the categories are kept streamlined. There's no need to creat a category for every dog, cat, gay, or heterosexual person.
In terms of categories, I wasn’t suggesting a category for every species, especially since some species only have 1 or 2 characters in the game that belong to them (dog, for example, or Orrgo’s species), but since we have an Asgardian category and an Inhuman category, does it not make sense to have a Midgardian category, and a category for other species where there are a significant number of characters? Otherwise, should there even be an Asgardian category and Inhuman category at all?
Again, I was only suggesting one category for LGBT+ characters, that encompasses all the sexualities and gender identities. It’s a category that I think a lot of readers would like to see (myself included) and a lot of other wikis have an LGBT category as well.
Also, I’m aware you deleted the other categories I made way back for the different combat classes and combat types, but I do think they would be useful categories, and would make it easier for people to find all the characters that belong to a certain class or type as they would all be in one place.
Hello! I don't wish to pester you or anything, but I noticed you hadn't replied to my previous message. I don't know if there's a reason for that, or if you just hadn't gotten around to it yet, but I would appreciate a response as I feel I make some good points and would like to hear your opinion.
Okay, but I don't feel you fully addressed what I was getting at. Having an Asgardian category (of which there are 14 characters), an Inhuman category (16 characters) and a Kree category (6 characters), but not having one for Midgardians or Robots, of which there are numerous characters for each, is inconsistent. We have categories for each of the events, so why not for each of the species where there is a significant number of characters? Otherwise, what's the point of having Asgardian, Inhuman and Kree categories?
Regarding an LGBT+ category, I really don't see what the problem is there, and I reiterate what I said in my previous post: it's a category you'll find on a lot of other wikis (including the Marvel Database wiki, which has separate categories for individual sexualities/gender identities) and it's a category readers would want to see, and I believe not having this category is not very inclusive.
Hello, this is AKindofMagic93. I would like some clarification on why I have been blocked. I appreciate that I should have asked you first before adding new categories, and that's my mistake, but I don't see how what I did was so wrong. I don't think the categories were spam or didn't add anything to the wiki, and I thought they would be useful to users who wanted to find characters of the same combat type. I also don't see how what I did was considered a 'style change' as all I did was add categories, and it wasn't as if I was changing the format/structure of any pages. I have also noticed that you have removed the categories from the pages - this is something which has upset me, as I now feel like I have wasted nearly two hours when I was just trying to be helpful and improve the wiki. I hope that you can clarify things for me, and I would like to be unblocked, though I appreciate that's up to you.
The fact that your idea entailed you editing every single character article on the wiki should've been your first indication to pause and ask a mod before proceeding. During your one week block, please review the Style Guide and Avengers Academy Wikia Rules articles. Reading and following them could've helped you avoid wasting those two hours.
Hi, I was just wondering why you’re reverting my capitalisation of ‘up’ on the quest pages? Plenty of other quest pages have ‘up’ capitalised when it says ‘Rank Up...’ and it appeared capitalised on the game.
Some of the quests included "Rank Up Character Name" and some were "Rank up Character Name." Here's one example. So it can go either way. But to decide to make all the articles "Rank Up" one day, and then change it to "Rank up" the next day is arbitrary and isn't a value added edit. Spammy edits with no value added are discouraged.
Okay, fair enough. Regarding sexual orientation/gender identity being included in the 'trivia' section, that info is in Wiccan's and America Chavez's trivia sections, which is why I assumed it would be okay to include it in Karolina Dean's trivia section as well.
Hi there! I was just trying to help add some of the character rank images that were missing, and things were going fine until I started getting this message: The modification you tried to make was aborted by an extension hook. (It first happened on Fitz's page, then Inferno's.) The image is uploaded to the site but when I try to save the edits to the gallery, it gives me that error. Is there something I can do to prevent this/fix it?
Hmm well it didn't cause problems for the last couple of pages I updated, but Fitz, Inferno, and Goliath still aren't letting me update. So just letting you know the rank images are uploaded to the wiki, they're just not saved to the gallery on the page if you want to try adding them later.
Wow! I just joined this wiki, been looking around a bit. I’ve seen how you’ve done so incredibly much. Thank you for all that you do :) (I’m new to wikia so if this isn’t the proper way to message you, let me know lol cause I’m still learning the ropes).
I made edits to her rank 5 outfit based off other rank 5 outfits that are mentioned as being from the movies or TV series (e.g: Jessica Jones, Daredevil, Scarlet Witch, Shuri rank 3, etc.). If it's not described as her full Ghost outfit from AMatW, what is it?
